N-Compass the Whole You: Consciously Choose a Fulfilling Life
Is this how life feels to you? Like robots, we wake up and begin our days by going through the motions, not really conscious of what we’re doing. We sit at our desks, or at home over a load of laundry and we begin to daydream about life as it could be. It seems out of our reach, just a dream, so we shake ourselves awake and continue to move predictably and robotically through our daily lives.
The only way to create change in your life is to consciously choose to do so.
This is not for the faint of heart; creating a fulfilling life takes commitment to changing your beliefs and attitudes and then taking meaningful action.
Consciously creating a fulfilling life can be a messy business. You will find that all the important aspects of your life (career, self image, relationships, beliefs) are closely intertwined, so as you begin to manifest change in one area of your life, you will find that other areas are affected. It helps to have someone with you on your journey who can act as a non-judgmental guide by offering perspectives that help to expand your options.
This is where the co-creative process works its magic. As your coach, I can help you to:
- Define who you are – what are your likes/dislikes? What are your strengths/weaknesses? What motivates you?
- Determine your core values – what is important to you? What do you believe in? Where do you want to spend your time?
- Define your goals and challenge you to visualize a fulfilling life that aligns with your core values
- Stay focused and support you as you manifest your goals
- Recognize and navigate any obstacles along the way
- Celebrate every accomplishment with you, as the journey is just as significant as the achievement of the goal

N-Joy the Journey: Navigating a Work/Life Transition
You’ve just been “downsized” at your job.
Through death or divorce, you are now a single mom and the sole breadwinner for your family.
Your children are now school-age and you suddenly have more time on your hands and are thinking of re-entering the workforce.
What do all of these situations have in common?
They are just a few of the many examples of life situations that lead to a period of transition. During periods of transition many women feel a lack of confidence; the normal everyday routine just doesn’t seem to “fit” anymore.
Experiencing a period of transition can be overwhelming.
Transitions are a time to look within yourself; to re-examine your priorities, re-charge your batteries and begin to create a new path for your life. This can be a very frightening period to move through on your own. You may have a network of friends and family that you turn to for support, but this approach is not always the most beneficial. Whether they are conscious of it or not, your friends and family may try to sabotage your efforts to move into a new phase of your life. They have grown comfortable with the “old” you and may feel threatened by your potential for growth and change. Or, you may find that your friends and family will offer advice based on their own experiences, but these may not be the right choices for you, and they may feel resentful if you choose not to heed their words of wisdom.
As your coach I am here to act as your non-judgmental sounding board and co-creator of possibility thinking, helping you move through the transition more efficiently. Specifically, I can help you to:
- Move beyond your fear and uncertainty about the future
- Accept that change is a part of life
- Focus on the advantages and opportunities that lie before you rather than dwelling on what was
- Become comfortable with letting go of your old definitions of self so that you can create a new and empowering definition of who you are
- Grow your self-confidence in your ability to manage change in your life
- Define new goals that align with your new definition of self
- Create action plans that keep you moving on a forward path
- Move beyond just surviving to truly thriving in your new life
- Rediscover the joy and embrace your opportunity to create a happy and fulfilling life
Don’t just survive, thrive!
“Coaches help clients navigate their warp-speed lives and sort through the mental clutter of the Information Age…a personal coach helps a client out of a crisis by encouraging him or her to set new goals and carry them out.” – USA Weekend.com

N-Gage in the Workplace: Leadership/Management Coaching
The role of management has become increasingly complex. As a manager or executive you are required not only to come up with strategic solutions against the ever-increasing competition of global commerce that functions 24/7, but also to motivate teams that may be cross-functional and widely scattered geographically.
Successful managers cannot lead by simply reacting to the challenges constantly facing them and their organizations. This means that to be truly effective you must master several key skills, such as planning, coordinating, problem solving, and communicating as well as motivating those who report to you while instilling confidence in those above, below and alongside you in your organization. All of this adds up to an exciting but formidable list of challenges in terms of what you are asked to do as a manager.
Are you ready to step up to the plate?
How do you navigate all of these challenges in a way that remains true to your values and integrity as well as to the high standards that most companies have for their leadership?
Being a fuller person makes good leadership sense. Unfortunately, in today’s highly competitive business environment, little time is devoted within your organization to helping you develop your strengths and improve on your areas of weakness. In addition, when you have questions, want to brainstorm or strategize, need some objective feedback on your personal style, or want to upgrade your management, leadership or communication skills there is often no one in your organization with whom it is "safe" to talk without risking looking incompetent or weak.
As your coach, I will act as your thinking partner and objective sounding board. With over ten years of experience as a senior manager and member of executive teams, I can help you to upgrade your management, leadership and communication skills, and stay focused on key priorities so that you can advance quickly and avoid common pitfalls. Specifically, I can help you to:
- Improve your ability to enlist the cooperation of others in order to produce results
- Determine the most effective ways to influence those in higher positions to help you achieve your goals
- Appreciate and leverage the differences in others in order to build an effective team
- Keep stress under control and keep your personal and professional life in balance
- Master some basic management skills such problem solving, prioritizing, and coordinating
- Increase the effectiveness of your communication
- Improve your ability to “manage up”
- Position yourself for your next career move
Mentor coaching for new managers
“What exactly is a coach? Part personal consultant, part sounding board, part manager. Yes, manager…For a surprising number of people, it is now the coach--not the boss--who pushes them to hire, to fire, to fine-tune a sales pitch, to stretch.” – Fortune Magazine
Many companies practice the concept of “promoting from within”. However, this can sometimes be a double-edged sword: on one hand it’s a terrific opportunity for their employees’ growth, but on the other hand companies are often promoting new managers from technical, artistic, or other “line” positions while offering little to no training in management. These new managers are expected to know the management skills and the communications rules without benefit of formal training or years of experience.
As a mentor coach, I help new managers quickly gain the necessary management/leadership and communications skills as well as the confidence to succeed.
Working with a mentor coach is like having an experienced, non-judgmental manager in your corner. When you are in doubt about how to handle a particular situation at work, I can serve as an experienced guide, helping you to rapidly ramp up your skills while you simultaneously develop your own management “voice”. The coaching partnership offers you safe space to try out new skills and leadership approaches, and helps you build your confidence in your own personal leadership style that is based on your core values and intuition.
If you are ready to jump-start your leadership skills, I would like to offer you a gift of a free, no obligation, 30-minute initial consult. Click here to arrange your free consult now!
